Provide vulnerable youth with a space where they can build relationships, access resources, and address mental health challenges.
Make psychological and social support accessible to those who would otherwise struggle to access these services.
Organize info-educational initiatives to raise youth awareness of mental health, fostering prevention of issues and facilitating early detection and intervention.
The PSI Hub is a low-threshold service that takes an integrated approach to addressing the mental health challenges of vulnerable youth, particularly those at risk of social marginalization and deviance.
The project will offer integrated services to respond promptly and effectively to mental health needs. A multidisciplinary team of social workers, cultural mediators, psychologists, psychiatrists, and legal operators will co-develop personalized pathways with the youth, including reception, assessment of distress, psycho-social support, health and legal orientation, and psychological/psychiatric therapy if necessary.
Engagement will begin with outreach activities conducted on the streets and in informal gathering places to encourage youth to access the project’s services. Within the Hub, trust-building will continue through the provision of basic services and recreational activities, complemented by assessment actions to identify both expressed and unexpressed needs of the participants.
Personalized pathways will be designed to address psycho-social and legal needs, including individualized psychological and psychiatric support. Additionally, preventive info-educational activities will be carried out.
The project’s target group includes minors and young adults (up to 26 years old) at risk of socio-health marginalization, including individuals vulnerable to developing addictions or affected by psychiatric and psychological issues. Through outreach activities, it is estimated that approximately 400 youth will be reached in one year, with around 150 accessing the Hub’s services.
