Objectives

Merge dance, physical theatre, live music, singing, and puppetry to create a performance with strong artistic impact, offering reflections and diverse perspectives on sensitive social issues.

Create an open environment that encourages active participation and allows all individuals, regardless of their background, to feel part of a vibrant and dynamic cultural community.

The project “WOYZƏCK” aims to initiate a proactive and virtuous dialogue with young national and international artists under 35, developing a trans-disciplinary creative experience entirely based in Italy. The project strongly emphasizes openness to the exchange of artistic practices, innovative production methods, and the research and development of new performative languages.

The project is inspired by and modernizes the theatrical work “Woyzeck” by G. Büchner, whose text addresses the struggle against hierarchical totalitarian systems and the repression of the individual. It invites audiences once again to reflect on the value of human consciousness and its infinite individual and collective expressive potential.

The creation process will be structured into sequential research phases. Through an international call, young multidisciplinary artists under 35 will be selected across various fields such as dance, circus arts, and music. They will be guided and directed by a creative team composed of emerging talents with high-level professional profiles and experience.

The goal is to collaborate in the creation of a performance with strong artistic impact, where dance, physical theatre, live music, singing, and puppetry merge to generate a hyper-communicative and innovative contemporary dramaturgy, offering reflections and diverse perspectives on sensitive social issues.

At the end of each research phase, there will be public presentations, inviting artists and the community to engage in dialogue. To ensure the work is accessible to a broad audience, sensory enhancement systems will be employed, including audio descriptions and multilingual subtitles.
