The call intends to finance or co-finance projects in urban and suburban contexts, including parks and reserves, enhancing, implementing and recovering green spaces with the active engagement of citizens, non-governmental organizations and local administrations.
Specific objectives:
- Planting trees and shrubs in deprived areas and/or areas at risk for ground instability and/or to decontaminate soil, water and air;
- Eco-friendly interventions to combat CO2 emissions;
- Eco-friendly interventions to improve the environment including in terms of its aesthetic value and its role in protecting biodiversity;
- Supporting local activities.
All over Italy, harmony between the natural and human environments is a priceless heritage. However, this is constantly under threat both in large cities and in peri-urban and rural areas due to disorderly development that often doesn’t respect nature, consumes land and pollutes air, water and soil, thus endangering biodiversity as well as the quality of human life itself.
This call for proposal aims at supporting initiatives that include the objectives identified within the area of intervention: “Environment”. This area integrates environmental and economic dimensions to promote a sustainable, fair and inclusive development, and create a society that is able to protect the interests of present and future generations.
