Fondazione MAGISObjectives
Promote environmental education and awareness actions targeting primary school students in two public schools, encouraging children to express themselves, gather information, take a stand, and act for the environment.
Enhance education as a tool for the sustainable transformation of the environment, economy, and society, promoting a peaceful and nonviolent culture, global citizenship, and the appreciation of cultural diversity and the contribution of culture to sustainable development.
Develop best practices to be replicated within the participating schools and other educational institutions through a specific pathway for primary school teachers.
The project, aligned with the United Nations resolution of July 28, 2022, which for the first time establishes the right to a “clean, healthy, and sustainable” environment on par with other fundamental rights, and within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (specifically Goal 13), targets primary school communities in Rome. It aims to structure an educational and training pathway for teachers and students to jointly address the topics of climate change and environmental protection.
To this end, training sessions for teachers will be organized to raise awareness and impart specific knowledge on environmental topics. Additionally, playful and creative workshops involving supportive artists will be structured and promoted for the students.
The project, through art, aims to develop critical thinking and greater awareness of environmental issues, with the goal of forming active citizens capable of taking action in their communities while maintaining a global perspective. The structured educational pathway will propose collective actions to contribute concretely to the fight against climate change and the reduction of CO2 emissions.
