Objectives

Increase access to professional production opportunities for young dancers.

Enhance the creative skills and professional growth of choreographers and performers under 35.

Expand audience engagement among under-35 viewers, fostering greater appreciation for contemporary dance and the arts.

The project, led by Associazione CapoTrave/Kilowatt (C/K) in collaboration with Anghiari Dance Hub and Associazione Cantieri Danza, supports the production of two contemporary dance performances by choreographers under 35.

Contemporary dance has always been a driving force for innovation, challenging conventional norms through technique, physical expression, and intellectual exploration. However, despite its presence, resources dedicated to young choreographers remain scarce, and emerging talents often lack access to full-scale productions and the financial support necessary to develop their work.

This initiative invests in the work of eight artists, including choreographers and performers. Each artistic team will have 30 days to develop one of the two productions—one featuring three performers and the other five.

The work will take place across multiple locations: Ravenna, under the coordination of Associazione Cantieri Danza; Anghiari, hosted by Anghiari Dance Hub; Sansepolcro, home to one of the eight Ministry of Culture-recognized Residency Centers

The selected projects will benefit from mentorship and co-creation programs involving: four dramaturgs specializing in dance, two lighting designers, artistic direction from all three partnering organizationsChoreographers will be selected through a national call, identifying the most innovative and representative voices in the contemporary dance scene. The final productions will be premiered at the Kilowatt Festival in Sansepolcro, featuring opportunities for audience engagement and active participation, as well as workshops for dance and theater students.
