Foster the professional growth and integration of young artists, offering advanced training, networking, and opportunities for experimentation in the performing and multimedia arts.

Develop new forms of artistic expression, blending tradition and innovation through the use of advanced technologies such as sound design, video mapping, and interactive installations.

Engage the public and the local community, through a multimedia exhibition that highlights the relationship between art and the city, fostering dialogue between creators and the community.

Promote cultural accessibility and inclusion, by offering free events and broadening access to live performance culture for a wider and more diverse audience.

The project “La città come palcoscenico” (The City as a Stage), implemented by the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, is an initiative aimed at enhancing the creativity of young artists through a training and production program in the fields of performing arts and multimedia technologies. Lasting twelve months, the program will involve 40 artists under 35, selected to develop their skills in sound technology, audio, and sound design through an intensive experience that combines advanced training, experimentation, and artistic production.

The initiative includes an educational program spanning the first ten months of the project, during which participants will attend theoretical lessons and practical workshops focused on sound spatialization techniques, sound design, lighting technology, and stagecraft, led by experienced instructors and industry professionals. In the autumn, the program will be enriched by an intensive masterclass dedicated to advanced techniques in multimedia artistic creation, covering interactive installations, soundscapes, video mapping, and kinetic sculptures, with the aim of fostering experimentation with new artistic languages.

The project will culminate in a final multimedia exhibition, scheduled to take place between November and December, where participants will oversee every phase of the creation of a collective exhibition of original works. The event will be held at BASE Milano, a cultural hub for creativity and artistic innovation, where the artists will have the opportunity to showcase their works to a broad and diverse audience.

Building on the Accademia’s long-standing tradition of training new generations of performing arts professionals, the project offers young artists the opportunity to acquire specialized skills, explore new forms of artistic expression, and enter a high-level professional environment, contributing to the development and innovation of the contemporary cultural scene.
