Arci Centro Donna is a recognized Anti-Violence Center in the Piedmont Region, and the primary goal of the project “Safety Net: Together Against Gender-Based Violence” is to strengthen its activities by introducing new services and enhancing existing ones.
The project aims to address the challenges identified through the daily work of the center’s operators, pursuing the following specific objectives over 24 months:
- Expanding Access to Support Services:
The project will activate a new territorial support desk within the local network for the prevention and response to violence against women and strengthen existing desks to reach more women and comprehensively address cases of distress. - Economic Empowerment:
Support the economic autonomy and professional and personal empowerment of survivors by expanding job reintegration programs, meeting the needs of users who currently cannot access such services due to limited resources. The project will also create new partnerships to increase the number of internships available. - Psychological Support and Socialization:
Enhance free psychological support for survivors through the creation of sharing groups, parenting support programs, and socialization activities. These initiatives aim to build support networks among survivors, helping them develop positive relationships and fostering social cohesion in the long term. Currently, the center provides multidisciplinary support, including legal, psychological, and employment assistance. However, a needs assessment revealed that, upon completing these programs, survivors often lack the necessary emotional and relational support to face their new beginnings. The creation of sharing circles would offer strategic tools to provide parenting support mediated by counselors and experts while fostering mutual aid and supportive relationships among survivors. - Strengthening Legal Assistance:
Extend the scope of free legal support to include issues related to over-indebtedness and challenges in paying bills and utilities.
