Global Citizenship Education (GCE) is an educational approach aimed at shaping individuals of all ages who can take an active role, both locally and globally, in building more peaceful, tolerant, inclusive, and sustainable societies. It seeks to foster a sense of belonging to a broader community and a common humanity, with an emphasis on political, economic, social, and cultural interdependence, as well as the interconnectedness between local, national, and global levels.

This project aims to promote the Global Citizenship Education approach among university students, specifically supporting students in the Master’s program in Global Citizenship Competencies at the University of Bologna in their study visits and fieldwork activities both in Italy and abroad.

Students will have the opportunity to be involved in:

  • A study visit to Tunisia in collaboration with UNESCO Maghreb and the University of Carthage to deepen their understanding of global migration and sustainability issues.
  • A short internship at WeWorld, an NGO engaged in GCE projects focusing on gender equality, climate justice, and sustainable consumption and development models, particularly in agriculture.
