Objectives

“A life for a life”. Granting the necessary support to relatives of deceased nurses (spouses, children, parents) who, in addition to mourning the dramatic loss of their loved ones, also have to face economic and social problems.

“Back to normal”. Helping those nurses who fell ill and in the aftermath may need medical assistance, rehabilitation and psychological support not covered by the public healthcare system.

“Distanced but never alone”. Supporting the nurses who have to quarantine because they tested positive or who, in order to prevent the spread of the virus, have to live away from their homes and families for long periods, thus facing large, unforeseen expenses and dealing with their relatives’ distress. This includes material damage as well as psychological and emotional challenges due to prolonged stress and solitude.

In the COVID-19 pandemic nurses are playing a key role. Their professionalism, their humanity and ability to stay close to patients have been brought to everyone’s attention. As of today, there are thousands of nurses testing positive to COVID. Therefore it is necessary to support all nurses who have been affected by this dramatic experience and their families with timely interventions, in addition to those already included in laws and government decrees.

A set of guidelines has been drafted establishing who can receive contributions and how. All administrative and management costs of the project have been borne and will be borne by the organizers. Every euro raised is therefore available to the potential beneficiaries.

These intervention impacts the whole Italian territory.
